Tourism Sales Report
Let’s share what must constitute a Tourism Sales Report. But firsts let’s understand what this is. A Tourism Sales Report is a record of sales with a number of activities/tours or safari departures, in line with the revenue and costs of the safaris. Tourism Sales Report gives proof of your company’s performance and if well evaluated tracking positive progress can be achieved
It shows the profit lines on a given safari departure, and clearly stipulates the dates of a given safari departure in a given month of the year. The Tourism Sales Report should indicate the total fees charged for a given safari/departure, a section with the amount received as prepayment or deposit, balance due in other wards the Tourism Sales Report give a clear picture of your company’s sales department.
Effective planning and management turn successful by any company following the results of a sales report, this is the heart of any safari company in business. It also gives guidance on many safari/tours in a given period of time
Note: A sales report should not be mistaken to be a safari departure schedule or chart. The safari departure chat instead shows the allocation of guides, vehicles, and the type of safari/tour booked in by a guest. This can also have a comment section to indicate special remarks made by a guest while booking a specific tour for instance special dietary requirements or any walking difficulties. Take an example a guest that has booked a gorilla safari in Uganda further requests to arrange porters for him or her, this can be on the safari chat under the comments section.
The positive performance of any safari/tour company is not reflected in the number of safaris or tours in a given period of time but instead in the profit margins made on a given safari. It should however be noted that numbers matter a lot too.
The other section that can be very important on a Tourism Sales Report is the consultant section that handled or made that sale. This is very critical and it helps the managers to motivate and reward consultants based on the traffic or conversion rate. This really gives managers an insight on which consultant has a big lead and effort to the incoming and should there be a pay rise of any sort of promotion, this can be a basis of considerations.
